COVID-19 Emergency Financial Assistance

In the fall of 2020 MAMA partnered with Buckhead Christian Ministry to connect Atlanta families with federal emergency financial assistance to cover past due rent, mortgage payments, utilities and security deposits.  The financial strain caused by the pandemic was overwhelming for many families, but the MAMA team was able to help over 100 families navigate the application process to receive the emergency assistance.

COVID-19 Vaccination Drives

In March and April 2021, MAMA hosted mass vaccination events at three area churches across six days.  MAMA was proud to partner with Walgreens and Humana to vaccinate over 7000 seniors, caregivers, healthcare professionals and first responders at these events.

Big thank you to St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church, St. Philip AME Church, and Jackson Memorial Church for opening their doors, and a special thanks to the host of volunteers from Delta Sigma Theta, the Oakland City Community Organization, the FAMU Pharmacy Alumni and from the community that helped us make these events a success.

Since that time MAMA has partnered with CORE Georgia and Humana to organize walk-up testing and vaccinations drives at dozens of community churches throughout Atlanta.

COVID-19 Vaccine Outreach

MAMA is partnering with Kaiser Permanente and Public Good Projects to help increase vaccination rates and stop the spread of COVID-19 in communities of color through education and outreach.  MAMA is conducting outreach at youth, sporting and community events through the end of the year.  We’re specifically targeting young people ages 12 – 25 trying to provide them with accurate information about COVID-19 and vaccine options, hopefully dispelling any hesitancy or misinformation that may be putting them at risk.  Check out our events calendar to find out when we’ll be in your neighborhood!
